The project story
The existing front porch had several cracks that had become unsightly to the homeowner. Resurfacing needed to improve the condition of the porch, but the new finish also had to make sense with the existing brick exterior of the house.
The porch was resurfaced with a brick-inspired decorative overlay designed to coordinate with the home’s masonry. The project addressed the deteriorated appearance while turning the porch into a more intentional part of the entrance.
Why this project matters
The finish was selected for the architecture, not in isolation. The project shows how resurfacing can address an existing condition problem while also improving the relationship between the concrete and the home.
What the photographs show
The photographs show the finished brick-pattern porch beside the existing brick steps, followed by the cracked concrete before resurfacing.
