Stained and Scored Concrete Care
Protect the color and finished surface with gentle cleaning and maintenance based on the actual protective system.

Stained concrete gets much of its character from the slab itself. Routine care should clean the surface without unnecessarily changing the color, sheen or protective finish.
Keep grit off the floor
Dust mop or vacuum loose material regularly, especially at exterior doors and other places where sand is tracked inside.
Damp clean with a compatible product
Use a mild cleaner appropriate for finished floors and avoid leaving cleaning residue behind. The exact maintenance method can depend on whether the floor is protected with sealer, wax or another finish.
Do not assume every stained floor has the same topcoat
Older stained floors may have different maintenance histories. Before applying wax, sealer or another protective product, identify what is already on the floor well enough to avoid compatibility problems.
Expect natural variation
Variation in tone, scoring, repaired areas and the original slab is part of stained concrete. Maintenance should protect that character rather than trying to make every area look artificially identical.
Watch traffic lanes
Entries, kitchens and primary walking paths can show wear earlier than lightly used areas. A change in protection does not necessarily mean the stain itself has failed.
