What this project shows

This finished interior view shows stained concrete continuing through a furnished room rather than appearing only as a close-up swatch. The larger context makes the natural tonal variation, reflections and relationship to the room materials easier to understand.

The second photograph shows the bare slab during preparation.

Design takeaway

Stained concrete is affected by the existing slab and the room around it. A useful reference photograph should show both the surface and enough of the space to understand how the color actually reads.
